Instagram Stories celebrates its first year of life
With 250 million users worldwide, Spain is the fourth country where more people use the popular tool to upload ephemeral photos
It's been a year since Instagram launched their Stories. The ephemeral content exchange product - which was born with the goal of unseating Snapchat - took off with an audience of 700 million Instagram users worldwide, 250 million of whom already use the stories every day.
On the occasion of its anniversary, the social network owned by Facebook has shared for the first time some data related to this tool. The highlight is that Spain is the fourth country in the world where the largest number of Stories is produced . And the geolocation Top5 is headed by Jakarta (Indonesia), followed by Sao Paulo, New York, London and Madrid .
Likewise, the Instagram community in Spain has become one of the largest producers of Stories in the world (fourth in the world), creating 150% more Stories per user than the general average.
Since last year, Instagram has launched more than 20 updates, from posting Boomerangs directly on Stories, to the ability to mention (@) and link to other accounts. Since the possibility of including boomerangs was introduced in November of last year, more than 1.3 billion have been published in the world.
One of the symbols that most users of Instagram Stories use are the 'stickers' or labels. The most popular is geolocation , to share the place where they are taking the photo. Then the digital clock, followed by the 'like' icon, the 'hasthtag' icon and the room temperature icon.
Regarding the 'hashtags' with which users define their images, the first in the world ranking is #GOODMORNING, followed by #WORK, #GOODNIGHT, #MOOD and #HAPPYBIRTHDAY.
Last May, the application gave its users the option to put masks on their selfies , just like on Snapchat. Since then, the most used are dog ears, sleep mask, rabbit ears, hearts and koala ears.
