Virtual reality lands live in the NBA

NBA and NextVR have announced that each week of the season they will broadcast a game in virtual reality, with special announcers dedicated to it.

Starting next November, NBA stars like Lebron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry sneak into homes around the world thanks to the agreement of the American League and NextVR.

With the arrival of the 2016/2017 season, the NBA will broadcast through virtual reality a game of the best basketball league in the world. In addition, it will do so with special speakers dedicated to it, with multiple camera angles and graphics optimized for virtual reality, they explain.

Users who want to enjoy the experience will have to have a full NBA League Pass subscription to see the games in virtual reality there will be no ads, although there may be 'sponsored experiences'.

"This programming marks the first regular agenda of live matches broadcast in virtual reality by a professional sports league," says NBA through a statement, collected by The Verge. The union between NBA and NextVR will begin during the week of October 27 with the first games of the season.

The retransmissions can be seen using the Samsung Gear VR and NextVR application, although from the NBA say that other virtual reality helmets will also be compatible with this technology throughout the season. In addition, during breaks in matches, fans will be able to experience what goes on behind the scenes.
